Solomon's Porch has an overarching mission of "reaching teens by meeting needs." The youth we serve are often in need of services which many of us take for-granted such a hot meals, shelter, and adults they can trust and confide in. We work to meet the many needs of the teens that come through our door and mentor them in the process of learning vital life skills, completing thier education and obtaining jobs as well as seeking healthcare, transportation, and family restoration.
As a Youth Outreach Center in downtown Wenatchee, WA, Solomon's Porch targets teenagers...some have been in trouble with the law, used drugs or have been abused or neglected. A few have dropped out of school or are not living under adult care. Some are in the occult, are involved in dangerous sexual activity or have turned to self-destructive behavior to medicate the pain of their lives. Many have simply chosen to identify with the described subculture as an avenue to acceptance.
The mission of our staff is to: meet, welcome, interact, listen, get involved, offer life guidance, and invest the time, prayer, and heart it takes to build one on one relationships and share the new life that God offers. Solomon's Porch offers pool, video games, computers with regulated internet acess, snacks, tutoring and more. Programs include activity nights, music lessons, camping, youth group, art lessons, talent shows, and holiday fun as well!
